They may create a bad movie for a great book. That is why turning a novel into a movie ruins the story. Also, people will decide to watch the movie instead of reading the book. This will reduce the number of readers in the world.

So what if the director changes the storyline sometimes? They could make the story better! I admit that it is possible to create a bad movie for a great book. However, it is also possible to make a boring book into an exciting movie. It is worth turning books into movies because most people prefer movies. Many good stories are not as well-known as they could be because people do not like to read.

It is rare that the movie version of the novel is better than the novel itself. Authors can go into depth and detail in novels. Also, books allow readers to imagine the stories in their heads. This is much better than watching a movie. Just because a novel only has words and no scenes does not mean that readers cannot see the action. They see the action using their imaginations!

The winner of today’s debate is Henry. Ashley committed the slippery slope fallacy when she claimed that one thing would cause another, but did not have proof. Ashley said that, “People will decide to watch the movie instead of reading the book. This will reduce the number of readers in the world.” However, she cannot prove this statement.
